The history of the Statue of Liberty is just as fascinating as the monument itself. Millions of tourists from all over the world go to New York each year to see this famous statue on Ellis Island. And for many immigrants that flocked from Europe to New York, this lady statue of liberty was the first image they saw of the USA. Such a famous landmark. When I was there last Spring the crown of this statue was under renovation, it was closed, so tourist couldn't go up there to get a great view of the harbor and the city's skyline. Now that the city announce the reopening of the Statue of Liberty to public on time of its 126th anniversary this coming Sunday (Oct. 28).
